Campbellton, New Brunswick, Canada

Campbellton is a Canadian city in Restigouche County, New Brunswick. It is located on the south bank of the Restigouche River, just opposite of Pointe-à-la-Croix, Quebec.

Some of the major industries here are forestry and tourism.

A main tourism attraction to the area is sport fishing for Atlantic Salmon. Every summer there are many sports fisherman coming to the Restigouche Valley for this.

In the winter the area gets it’s fair share of snow and skiing is an attraction. Sugarloaf provides Alpine and Nordic ski facilities.

Campbellton is also a retail and service centre for Restigouche County.

The area is full of history from the “Battle of the Restigouche” to the great fire in the late 1880’s. And of course you cannot talk about the history of the City of Campbellton without talking about the infamous Phantom Ship known as “Fireship of Baie des Chaleurs”.
