St. Stephen is a town in New Brunswick that has a population of 4,817 according to the 2011 census. The town is located on the eastern bank of the St. Croix River . The St. Croix River is a “natural forming” US and Canadian border. Calais, Maine is located across the river from St. Stephen and there are 3 border crossing bridges.

 

The first people to make this area their home is the Passamaquoddy people.

 

The town is home to the famous Ganong Chocolates, and the town was given the title of “Canada’s Chocolate Town.”
